Adjustment to Playoff Format. A second "problem". Way less important than the above. It was my understanding that the winners of the Qualifier games went on to play a pre-defined opponent. Well "Make-the-Final" Vic burst that bubble before yesterday's Canada/Scotland game. The two qualifier winners are actually ranked according to the round robin standings. And the first place team plays the LOWEST ranked qualifier winner, while the second place team plays the HIGHEST ranked qualifier winner.
So! It's not necessarily the winner of 4 vs 5 playing the 1st place team, and the winner of 3 vs 6 playing the 2nd place team. That could switch, IF the 6th place team wins over the 3rd place team. No change to our pool format though! Still got 4 teams playing in the qualifiers, and 4 teams playing in the semifinals. Very possibly it will follow what I understood to be the playoff format after all. Unless Switzerland (6th) upsets the USA (3rd). Then it switches. Oh well. No disaster! Might work better for some of us! That's my take on that. It's just like the NHL's playoff format actually! Highest plays lowest. Except the top two teams got a bye to the semifinals.

Hi all! Here we go with a 2021 Men's Curling Championship Pool! Last year there were no World Championships! Stupid Covid. But this year they've figured out a Curling Bubble in Calgary, so (cross your fingers) we're getting both a Men's and a Women's tourney! Barring a burst of the Bubble. Nicely spaced out too so not 8 weeks straight of pools like a usual year! (That's too much work.) So check the links below to get in on this first bonus 2021 pool!

Instructions for using the Excel Pool Entry Form
To fill out the interactive pool entry form and send it to me, you MUST save your picks on your computer. Then email the file you saved to me as an attachment. That's the only way I will get your picks! That's because the form is not a true online form. But it's still very easy to use. Credit for the original entry form goes to a guy from MTS who did weekend hockey pools back in the 1990's!
